Sônia Samudio, mother of Eliza Samudio, was confirmed as a candidate for the Rio de Janeiro state deputy seat by the Progressistas (PP). She said she will draw on her experience defending victims of violence and protecting children, aiming to strengthen public policies for family support and child protection.

Former footballer Edmundo announced his candidacy for a seat in Brazil’s federal Chamber of Deputies representing Rio de Janeiro under the PSDB banner. He pledged to work for a more just, safe and prosperous Rio, traveling throughout the state’s 92 municipalities to hear residents’ needs and propose concrete measures.
