Rio Carnival 2027 'Noite dos Enredos' set for Aug 7 at Cidade do Samba
The Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba (Liesa) will hold the 'Noite dos Enredos' on 7 August 2027 at the Cidade do Samba in Rio de Janeiro. The event is free to the public, requiring a donation of one kilogram of non‑perishable food, and will open with a performance by the female samba collective Samba Que Elas Querem. It will present preview performances of the samba‑enredos chosen by the 12 schools of the Grupo Especial for the 2027 Rio Carnival.
Mocidade, one of the city’s leading samba schools, has published the full list of its competing samba‑enredo compositions for the 2027 parade. Separately, the Estrela do Terceiro Milênio school’s elimination process—where candidates submit CDs and are judged by community, bateria, and musical wing—was highlighted and praised by its director Wilson Costa.
