Rio de Janeiro to host MotoGP 2027 season launch

MotoGP has announced that Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will host the official 2027 season launch event on February 21, 2027. The event is scheduled to take place at Botafogo Beach, offering a backdrop of the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain.

As one of the championship’s largest pre-season gatherings, the launch will bring together all teams, riders, and manufacturers. The program is expected to include official team presentations, rider interviews, manufacturer exhibition booths, live entertainment featuring international artists, and official merchandise sales.

The decision follows the success of the 2026 MotoGP event in Goiânia, which saw approximately 150,000 spectators and sold-out tickets. MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta noted the high level of passion among Brazilian fans, while Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes expressed enthusiasm for hosting the global motorsport event to showcase the city's natural beauty and sporting spirit.
