Rio de Janeiro youth win Rock in Rio tickets in innovation hackathon

JUVRio Rock in Rio hackathon innovation youth empowerment

The Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through the Municipal Secretariat of Youth (JUVRio), held the ‘JUV in Rio – Hackathon Rock in Rio’. The event brought together 100 young people aged 16 to 29 at the Casa da Juventude Centro in Gamboa.

In partnership with Junior Achievement and Rock in Rio, the hackathon challenged participants to develop solutions under the theme ‘For a Better World’ using Design Thinking methodologies. The top ten teams, consisting of five members each, were awarded tickets to Rock in Rio 2026. Additionally, ten mentors who guided the teams also received tickets.

Following the competition, winning teams will have their solutions supported by the Usina de Startups, receiving specialized mentorship and guidance to transform their ideas into real-world projects.
