Rio Ferdinand regrets Manchester United missing Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer
Rio Ferdinand has expressed regret that Manchester United failed to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi during the summer transfer window. Ferdinand noted that the club was '100% in' for the player, but the required transfer fee was prohibitive.
Bouaddi, who recently turned 19, joined Manchester City from Lille. Ferdinand remarked that the youngster's transfer fee is equivalent to the combined costs of Manchester United's signings Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
During the summer, Manchester United focused on a midfield rebuild, spending a combined £163 million on Youri Tielemans, Carlos Baleba, and Andrey Santos. Ferdinand highlighted Bouaddi's recent performance against Paris Saint-Germain as evidence of the talent United missed out on.
