Rio Grande do Norte launches public exam for 260 prison police and specialist posts

The State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap‑RN) opened a public competition offering 260 immediate vacancies for the Rio Grande do Norte prison police force and specialist roles. The positions include 200 Police Penitentiary posts—140 open competition, 20 for people with disabilities, and 40 reserved for self‑declared Black or brown candidates—and 60 specialist slots divided among Social Assistants (20), Psychologists (20), Occupational Therapists (14) and Psychiatric Doctors (6). All jobs require a university degree and the registration fee is R$130.

Candidates must register online through the Instituto Avalia portal between 22 June and 27 July 2026. The written exams are scheduled for 13 September in Natal, Mossoró, Pau dos Ferros and Caicó, with morning sessions for police candidates and afternoon sessions for specialists. The contest will remain valid for two years after the final result, with a possible one‑time extension.

On 21 July, Instituto Avalia published the list of approved and denied fee‑exemption requests following appeals, making the documents available on its website.
