Rio Grande do Norte implements ENCCEJA PPL exams for prisoners

The Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SEAP) and the Ministry of Education (MEC), through Inep, are conducting the ENCCEJA PPL exams in the prison units of Rio Grande do Norte on October 6 and 7. A total of 3,181 incarcerated individuals are registered to take the exam, which provides certification for the completion of elementary and high school education.

This year, the examination introduces a new anti-fraud measure: biometric facial recognition. Developed by SEAP’s Information Technology Department and integrated into the Integrated Penitentiary Administration System (SIAPEN), this tool will be used to identify all participants.

On the first day, 1,948 participants will take exams for elementary school certification. The second day will involve 1,233 participants seeking high school certification, which includes four subject areas and an essay. Results are scheduled to be released by Inep on December 14.
