Police recruitment contests open in Rio Grande do Norte and Piauí
The Rio Grande do Norte state government has opened applications for its Penal Police contest, offering 260 positions. Applicants must hold a university degree, have a driver's license and be up to 45 years old. The contest includes 200 penal officer slots with an initial salary of R$5,681.78 and 60 specialist roles in social work, psychiatry, psychology and occupational therapy with salaries ranging from R$3,500 to R$4,081.49. The registration period ends on 27 July, with a fee of R$130 (exemptions available), and the written exam is scheduled for 13 September in four cities.
Separately, the Piauí government announced a public competition for its Military Police, providing 1,001 vacancies – 1,000 soldier positions and one chaplain role. Candidates need a higher‑education degree, a driver’s license and must be between 18 and 35 years old. Initial salaries are R$4,896.84 for soldiers and R$9,793.54 for the chaplain. Registration closes on 22 July, and the objective and descriptive tests are set for 23 August in Teresina. Both contests aim to strengthen public security forces in their respective states.
