Rio Grande do Norte police investigate businessman's murder over weight loss drug dispute

Police in Rio Grande do Norte are investigating the kidnapping and murder of 29-year-old businessman Marcelo Silva de Oliveira. Investigators believe the motive stems from a debt and dispute involving the trade of weight loss medications, specifically the active ingredient tirzepatide, known commercially as Mounjaro.

Two suspects identified as executors of the crime were reportedly captured while attempting to flee to Paraguay. Additionally, authorities are examining a tracking device found in the victim's vehicle, which the businessman had reported to the police shortly before his disappearance, as a potential tool used to facilitate the crime.
