Rio Grande do Norte recognizes new cultural and natural heritage sites

The state of Rio Grande do Norte has officially recognized four new natural and cultural heritage sites through newly published state laws.

The designations include the Barra do Cunhaú region in Canguaretama, recognized for its natural, touristic, and cultural value, and the Apertados Canyons in Currais Novos, noted for its geological and landscape significance.

Additionally, the lace makers (Rendeiras de Bilros) of Ponta Negra Village in Natal have been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of the state. This follows a similar municipal recognition in Natal earlier this year, aimed at preserving the traditional craft passed down through generations of women in the community.
