Rio Grande do Norte service providers strike over unpaid wages

Service providers for the Rio Grande do Norte Institute of Sustainable Development and Environment (Idema) launched a strike on Friday, August 14, protesting unpaid wages. Approximately 300 workers, including tour guides and trail professionals employed through the outsourced company Clarear Serviços, halted activities at locations such as Parque das Dunas. According to Sindlimp president Milclenilson Leite, these workers have not received salaries since August 7.

Idema stated it has issued a payment order to Clarear Serviços for outsourced labor services related to June. Meanwhile, the state government of Rio Grande do Norte has begun paying a 40% advance of the 13th salary to 20,743 active civil servants in agencies with their own resources. This payment includes staff from Idema, Detran, and several other state institutes, totaling approximately R$ 65.2 million.
