Brazil reports significant financial and regional development milestones
Brazil is seeing significant activity across various financial and industrial sectors. In the credit union sector, the global market has reached approximately US$ 3.9 trillion in assets, with Brazil maintaining its position as the largest cooperative financial system in Latin America, boasting 23.8 million members and US$ 168.6 billion in assets.
In regional development, Banco do Nordeste (BNB) announced a record R$ 60.9 billion budget for 2027 from the Fundo Constitucional de Financiamento do Nordeste (FNE). This 15.9% increase aims to fund productive projects across the Northeast, parts of Minas Gerais, and Espírito Santo. Additionally, in Rio Grande do Norte, the Plano Safra will allocate R$ 908.2 million to rural credit, with 74% dedicated to family farming.
Other notable developments include Sicoob reaching a milestone of R$ 1 billion in monthly contemplated consortium credits. In the technology sector, the federal government has announced a R$ 2.3 billion package for the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan, which includes the acquisition of high-performance supercomputers. In the corporate sector, SLC Sementes was recognized for excellence in customer satisfaction in the agribusiness category, and Helianto Farmacêutica was named a top employer in the São Paulo interior.
