Rio Grande do Sul book fairs unveil patrons and program for August-October events

The 27th Venâncio Aires Book Fair will run from 27 to 30 August in the Parque Municipal do Chimarrão Almedo Dettenborn. Ten book stalls, free admission and a theme of “Where reading becomes meeting” will accompany theatrical shows, storytelling, workshops and activities for children and people with autism. The opening ceremony features honored writer Hilda Agnes Hübner Flores, host writer Fernanda Landim and patron Ryane Leão.

The 41st Bento Gonçalves Book Fair is scheduled for 14 to 24 October. Writer Cíntia Moscovich has been announced as the patron of the event, which adopts the theme “Páginas abertas, voos infinitos”. The fair will include literary presentations, contests and community activities across the city, which is promoted as a cultural hub in the wine region of Rio Grande do Sul.
