Rio Grande do Sul gubernatorial candidates intensify election campaigns

Candidates for the governorship of Rio Grande do Sul intensified their electoral mobilization during the final weekend of August. Campaign activities were concentrated in the Metropolitan Region, the state's interior, and the 49th Expointer in Esteio.

Gabriel Souza (MDB) attended Expointer alongside Governor Eduardo Leite and met supporters in Tramandaí. Juliana Brizola (PDT) visited Expointer with vice-gubernatorial candidate Edegar Pretto (PT) and held events in Novo Hamburgo and Caxias do Sul. Luciano Zucco (PL) engaged with the Santa Rosa Commercial Association and conducted political acts in the Northwest region. Marcelo Maranata (PSDB) also focused on the Northwest, while other candidates like Rejane Oliveira (PSTU) and Priscila Voigt (Unidade Popular) held local rallies.

Recent polling shows a competitive race. A Quaest poll reported Luciano Zucco at 26% and Juliana Brizola at 23%. Conversely, a Real Time Big Data survey placed Brizola at 38% and Zucco at 32%, highlighting significant fluctuations in voter intention as the election approaches.
