Rio Grande do Sul hosts regional cultural and gastronomic festivals

Regional cultural celebrations are taking place in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, highlighting local traditions and gastronomy.

In Farroupilha, the 13th Moscatel Festival begins on September 5. The event features four nights of programming throughout September, including a special lunch on the 19th. Nine wineries associated with the Farroupilha Association of Wine, Sparkling Wine, Juice, and Derivatives Producers (Afavin) will present over 40 labels for tasting. The festival aims to promote the municipality's identity as the National Capital of Moscatel and boost local tourism and the economy.

In Canela, the inaugural Festival Tradição will run alongside the Festejos Farroupilhas from September 11 to 20. Centered at Praça João Corrêa, the event includes a traditional Galpão Farroupilha and features music, dance, poetry, and gastronomy. Highlights include a festival for accordionists, musical shows, cultural workshops, and tastings of traditional dishes like costelão to celebrate Gaúcho heritage.
