Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná agribusiness exports jump in 2026

In June 2026, Rio Grande do Sul's agribusiness exports reached US$1.24 billion, a 3.9% increase over the same month a year earlier and representing 68.9% of the state’s total exports. Soybean shipments drove the rise, with export value up 15.2% and grain soybeans gaining 18.8%. Chicken exports surged 65.6% in value, while beef rose 15.3%. China remained the top destination, accounting for 30.2% of export value. Over the first half of the year the state recorded US$6.84 billion in exports, up 8.3% year‑on‑year.

Paraná also reported strong export performance in the first half of 2026, with total sales of US$11.9 billion, a 5.6% increase from 2025. The state’s agribusiness sector, which makes up more than 60% of exports, saw soybean grain sales rise to US$2.4 billion (12.8% growth) and soy oil to US$695.4 million (12.3% growth). Chicken exports climbed to US$2.1 billion, up 18.5%, and beef to US$109 million, up 19.9%. Machinery exports, especially earth‑moving equipment and trucks, also grew sharply, bolstered by demand from the United States and Canada. The trade balance showed a surplus of US$1.2 billion.
