Rio Grande do Sul PT caucus criticizes Luciano Zucco over election questioning
The Workers' Party (PT) caucus in the Rio Grande do Sul Legislative Assembly has condemned statements by Governor-elect Luciano Zucco (PL) regarding the presidential election results. State Deputy Miguel Rossetto, leader of the PT caucus, described Zucco's refusal to recognize Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's victory as ‘inacceptable and highly worrying.’
Zucco had previously issued a note claiming the presidential election involved ‘abusive interferences’ and ‘contradictory data’ that required clarification, though he provided no evidence of irregularities. Rossetto countered Zucco's criticism of Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin's decision to extend voting hours, noting that the extension was requested by both Lula's campaign and Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign.
Rossetto also noted that the President of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Kassio Nunes Marques, has recognized the election results. Additionally, the PT caucus called for investigations into allegations regarding Meta's distribution of political content and reduced bus services in cities like Salvador and São Paulo on election day.
