Rio Grande launches program to combat religious intolerance
The City Hall of Rio Grande, in partnership with local entities, has initiated a mobilization program aimed at combating religious intolerance. The initiative features a multi-day schedule of cultural and religious activities designed to promote respect and racial equality.
Key events include inter-religious celebrations at the Public Market, cultural and literary exhibitions, and musical performances. The program also includes the 'Caminhos Negros' project in the Historic Center, discussions regarding the role of health in traditional communities, and guided visits to the Recanto dos Orixás.
Additional activities feature film screenings, Afro-Brazilian culinary experiences, and workshops such as capoeira and craft fairs. The week of programming concludes with a Xirê de Xangô ceremony.
