Rio Ivaí bridge construction reaches 45% completion

Construction of the new bridge over the Rio Ivaí on the PR-498 highway, connecting São Carlos do Ivaí and Japurá in Paraná, has reached 45.39% execution. The project, managed by the Paraná Department of Highways (DER/PR), involves an investment of R$ 71,592,000.00.

Work is currently progressing on both the riverbanks and within the riverbed. Teams using barges are concreting six pairs of pillars located in the river, while five pairs of pillars on the banks are receiving transverse beam concreting. Additionally, longitudinal beams are being manufactured on-site for future installation.

The completed structure will be 400 meters long and 13.40 meters wide, featuring two 3.60-meter driving lanes, 2.50-meter shoulders on both sides, safety lanes, and New Jersey concrete barriers. The project also includes paving access roads and sections of the PR-498, with completion expected in February 2028.
