Rio municipality announces 1,046 job vacancies

The Rio de Janeiro municipal Secretariat of Labor and Income (SMTE) released a list of 1,046 job openings across the city. Of these, 1,013 positions are open to the general public and 33 are reserved for people with disabilities or INSS‑rehabilitated workers.

The largest single offering is for 700 call‑center operators (receptive) that require no prior experience. Additional bulk hires include 100 retail attendants, 80 traffic operators and 10 general services assistants, alongside a range of roles such as butcher assistants, hospital aides, cooks, and administrative staff.

Secretary of Labor Manoel Vieira highlighted the municipality’s commitment to inclusive hiring, stating that the dedicated quota for people with disabilities aims to broaden access to the labour market. Applications are managed by the SMTE, which receives vacancy lists from partner companies, screens candidates and directs them to the appropriate selection process, either through online platforms or in‑person interviews.
