Rio Preto drivers attacked in two separate violent incidents

A 69‑year‑old rideshare driver was assaulted by six men in Mirassol, near Rio Preto, after dropping off two women and a child. The attackers, appearing under the influence of alcohol or drugs, blocked his vehicle, battered him with punches and kicks, and damaged his Renault Kwid before he managed to drive away.

In São José do Rio Preto, a bus driver was seriously injured when a fellow driver attacked him with a serrated knife over a disagreement about a stop point. After the knife broke, the assailant continued with punches and threatened the victim with a hammer before fleeing. Both incidents are being investigated by local police.
