Rio Preto retiree assaulted after gas station dispute

A 63-year-old retiree was assaulted at a gas station in Rio Preto following a dispute over a parking space. The incident occurred on a Friday evening at a station on Fernando Costa Avenue.

The altercation began when the retiree asked a motorcyclist to move his vehicle so the retiree could refuel his car. According to the victim, the motorcyclist responded provocatively, leading to a verbal argument. The retiree reportedly struck the motorcyclist with a tonfa, but the motorcyclist and an accomplice responded by kicking the retiree while he was on the ground, striking his head and body.

Civil Police have registered the case as bodily injury. Investigators are reviewing security camera footage to identify the suspects, described as an athletic man between 28 and 30 years old. The victim sought medical attention for spinal and bodily pain and underwent a forensic examination.
