Rio Tinto Mayor insults Mamanguape voters during political event

Magna Gerbasi, the mayor of Rio Tinto, sparked controversy during a political event in Paraíba on Saturday. While participating in the ‘Caravana Daqui Pra Melhor’ along the North Coast, Gerbasi directed insults toward voters in the neighboring city of Mamanguape.

As the caravan passed through the region, Gerbasi was accompanied by several political figures, including Governor Lucas Ribeiro, former Governor João Azevêdo, and Federal Deputy Aguinaldo Ribeiro. Amidst boos and shouting from the crowd, Gerbasi demanded respect for Rio Tinto and referred to the Mamanguape public as ‘mundiça’.

The incident was captured on video. As of the latest reports, there have been no official statements from Gerbasi regarding the remarks, nor from representatives of Mamanguape.
