Rio Verde deploys drones to secure massive Menos é Mais concert
The municipality of Rio Verde implemented its Intelligent Public Safety system for a large public celebration marking the city’s 178th anniversary. The plan relied on real‑time aerial monitoring by drones operated by specially trained municipal security personnel. Drones provided continuous visual coverage of the Parque Zilda Arns venue, allowing operators to pinpoint incidents such as crowd disturbances, lost persons, or illegal activities and relay exact coordinates to ground teams, which then responded quickly and precisely.
The system was used during the free pagode concert by the group Menos é Mais, which attracted an estimated 30,000 attendees. Mayor Wellington Carrijo highlighted the event’s role in fostering community pride and noted that the integrated security approach ensured a safe, organized celebration. Municipal Guard Civil commander Adriano Carvalho described the drone‑assisted operation as a “special operation” that enabled seamless coordination among police, the guard, and other forces, contributing to a smooth and secure experience for families attending the festivities.
