Rio Verde launches rural security operation

Rio Verde has launched a new phase of ‘Operação Cio da Terra’, an integrated security initiative designed to strengthen patrolling in the municipality's rural areas. The operation involves security forces and public agencies conducting patrols across rural properties, districts, and local roads.

Established in 2017, the strategy focuses on preventing and addressing incidents affecting rural residents and producers. The initiative includes ostensive patrolling, property visits, and the use of intelligence to increase the government's presence in remote areas. Mayor Wellington Carrijo stated that the operation is essential for protecting the agribusiness sector and providing security to those working in the field, particularly during periods of high agricultural activity.
