Rio Vergine pollution: Urgent complaint filed in Avellino

Nando Romano, the Democratic Party group leader in the Avellino City Council, has filed an urgent complaint regarding the pollution of the Rio Vergine in the Pianodardine area. The report describes the water as having a rusty, reddish coloration and an acrid odor.

The complaint has been addressed to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, with copies sent to the NOE Carabinieri, Arpa Campania, and the Mayor of Avellino. This follows a previous incident in July where the water turned white, which was suspected to be linked to local industrial activities.

Romano expressed significant concern for public health, noting the risk that polluted water could infiltrate local crops in the areas surrounding the river.
