Riobamba hosts Feria Ecuador to celebrate national founding
The city of Riobamba hosted the fourth edition of Feria Ecuador in its historic center to commemorate the founding of the Republic on September 11, 1830. The event, held under the theme ‘Ecuador nació en Riobamba’, served as a platform to showcase the country's cultural, touristic, and productive diversity.
The fair featured approximately 300 stands and included participation from 17 decentralized autonomous governments and 122 exhibitors. Attendees explored a wide range of offerings, including traditional gastronomy such as Amazonian maito de tilapia, Manabí cacao products, and local specialties like hornado and llapingachos.
In addition to commercial displays of handicrafts and artisanal goods, the event included live music, folk dancing, and various cultural activities. The fair aimed to connect local heritage with contemporary economic and community dynamics, highlighting products from various provinces including Chimborazo and the Amazon region.
