RIONOR to host cultural event celebrating Spain-Portugal border history

The RIONOR association (Red Ibérica Occidental para una Nueva Ordenación de la Raya) will host a Velada Rayana in Moimenta, Vinhais, on Sunday, September 13. The event aims to recover the shared history and memory of the border between Spain and Portugal.

The gathering will focus on historical themes such as the movement of people and goods, the smuggling of contraband, the migration of workers to mines, and the experiences of those returning home after retirement. The program includes music, oral tradition, literature, and personal testimonies to foster dialogue between the communities on both sides of the border.
