Rio+Saneamento collects 2,000 liters of cooking oil via Trata Óleo

The Trata Óleo environmental program, managed by Rio+Saneamento, has collected over 2,000 liters of used cooking oil across 18 municipalities. Since its launch in 2023, the initiative has expanded to include 81 voluntary delivery points (PEVs).

The collected oil is sent to partner cooperatives for filtration and subsequent use in biodiesel production. This recycling process has prevented the emission of approximately 7,200 kilograms of CO2 equivalent and helped preserve roughly 53 million liters of water.

Proper disposal through the program helps prevent sewage network obstructions and the contamination of rivers, soil, and groundwater. In municipalities such as Trajano de Moraes, collection points are available to facilitate correct disposal for local residents.
