Riot Platforms repays $200M Coinbase credit facility

Riot Platforms has fully repaid a $200 million Bitcoin-backed credit facility from Coinbase Credit, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The repayment, which included the outstanding principal and accrued interest, was completed on September 21. The company did not incur any early termination fees for settling the debt, which was not originally scheduled to mature until April 2027.

The settlement releases significant collateral previously pledged to the facility, including Bitcoin, USDC, and cash. As of June 30, approximately 5,821 Bitcoin—representing about 51% of Riot’s total holdings of 11,380 Bitcoin—were restricted under the agreement. The facility had previously been amended in April 2026 to replace a floating interest rate with a fixed annual rate of 6.15%.

Alongside its Bitcoin mining operations, Riot continues to expand its data center business. This includes a recent 20-year lease for 191 megawatts at its Rockdale campus, an agreement with an artificial intelligence developer expected to generate approximately $9.1 billion in revenue over the term of the lease.
