Ripensia Timișoara knocked out in Romanian Cup regional stage

On 11 July 2026 the second round of the regional phase of the Cupa României Betano was played. Four‑time champion Ripensia Timișoara was eliminated after a 0‑0 draw followed by a loss in the decisive match, ending the historic club’s run in the competition.

Across the seven Romanian regions, the group winners – Bradul Putna, Voința Ion Creangă, ACS FC Chieșd, Minerul Rodna, Viitorul Sîntimbru, CSM Caransebeș and Petrolul Berca – secured places in the national stage. The calendar lists the final regional round for 15 July 2026 and the national phase beginning 29 July 2026, with subsequent rounds scheduled through 2027.

The tournament will continue with quarter‑finals, semi‑finals and the final slated for 12 May 2027, concluding the 2026/2027 Cupa României season.
