Ripley's Believe It or Not! to close San Francisco location

Ripley's Believe It or Not! has announced it will close its long-standing attraction at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco before the end of the year. The museum, which opened in 1967, has been a fixture of the waterfront district for nearly 60 years.

Company president Jim Pattison Jr. described the decision as difficult, noting the museum's long history and its ties to the city. While a specific final closing date has not been finalized, operations are expected to wind down by December 31. Pattison indicated that the company is not necessarily leaving San Francisco entirely, though no further details were provided.

As part of the transition, the company plans to offer certain exhibits with local ties for sale, including a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge created on the head of a pin and crutches belonging to baseball Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio. The company stated it would provide support to employees during the closure process.
