Riposto Carabinieri shut down unauthorized karaoke event

Carabinieri from the Riposto station intervened at a commercial establishment in the Torre Archirafi district of Riposto, Catania, following reports of loud music audible from hundreds of meters away.

During an administrative inspection, officers found approximately 40 patrons dining outdoors while participating in karaoke. The establishment's owner, a 40-year-old resident of Mascali, lacked the necessary documentation and authorizations for the acoustic equipment used, as well as permits for public entertainment and musical performances. Additionally, there was no proof of SIAE rights payments.

The inspection also revealed that the DJ, a 56-year-old from Acireale, was working without proper employment authorization. Consequently, the owner has been reported to the judicial authorities for the suspected offense of disturbing the peace or rest of persons.
