Riposto investigation launched after woman found dead in house fire

Authorities in Riposto, Sicily, are investigating the death of 34-year-old Noemi Impellizzeri, whose body was discovered by firefighters during an intervention to extinguish a house fire. The incident occurred in an apartment on via Circonvallazione after a neighbor reported seeing flames and hearing a dog barking around 4:30 a.m.

Investigators from the Carabinieri of Giarre and specialists from the Catania SIS are working to reconstruct the victim's final hours. While the fire was the initial cause for emergency services, police are not ruling out the possibility of a staged crime scene. A person known to the victim has already been questioned as part of the ongoing inquiry led by the Prosecutor's Office of Catania.
