Ripple and XRP Ledger Foundations Warn of Fake “XRP Rewards” Scam
The XRP Ledger Foundation and Ripple’s developer platform RippleX issued alerts that scammers are promoting a bogus “XRP Rewards Scanner” scheme, falsely claiming Ripple is distributing unclaimed XRP through wallet scans. Both organisations emphasized that no airdrops, rewards, or wallet‑scanning programs are being offered and warned users never to share private keys or connect wallets to unofficial sites.
The scams impersonate official Ripple branding and use fabricated posts on X to lure long‑term XRP holders, with one fake website prompting a “Get Early Access” button that can drain wallets. XRP Ledger Chief Architect David Schwartz called the site “a scam.” Victims are urged to verify announcements only through official channels and report phishing attempts.
