Ripple business growth fails to drive significant XRP price increases
Despite Ripple achieving a cumulative payment volume of $16 trillion through new partnerships and expansions, the native cryptocurrency XRP has not seen a proportional increase in value. Analysis indicates that while Ripple’s corporate ventures and financial partnerships are growing, XRP holders do not share in the company's profits, as owning the token does not grant equity in the firm.
Data shows XRP rose from $1.29 on October 25 to $1.32 on October 28, a gain of approximately 2.3%. However, this performance left the asset roughly 11% below its September close. During the same period, XRP's performance was comparable to other major cryptocurrencies, with Ethereum seeing a larger decline of approximately 12.2%.
The disconnect highlights that Ripple operates multiple business lines. The company provides financial software and services, as well as the RLUSD stablecoin, which is backed by dollars and short-term US government securities. Customers can utilize Ripple's services and the XRP Ledger without necessarily using XRP as the primary settlement asset.
