Ripple unveils Ripple Mint platform to automate RLUSD stablecoin for institutions
Ripple announced the launch of Ripple Mint, a unified platform that gives regulated institutions a web‑based interface and programmable APIs for minting, redeeming, bridging and monitoring its dollar‑pegged stablecoin RLUSD. The platform supports multiple blockchains—including the XRP Ledger, Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Ink, Unichain and the XRPL EVM sidechain—allowing tokens to move across networks while providing end‑to‑end transaction tracking, webhook notifications and reference‑IDs for automated reconciliation.
RLUSD’s market capitalization hovers around $1.5‑$1.6 billion. While the number of holders rose about 6 percent and active addresses grew roughly 70 percent, monthly transfer volume fell about 25 percent to roughly $10‑$11 billion. Ripple said the new tooling is aimed at large‑scale enterprises that need to automate stablecoin workflows, reduce manual processing and integrate RLUSD into existing treasury, payments and compliance systems.
In parallel, Ripple disclosed a strategic investment in Notabene, a compliance network that serves over 2,300 institutions processing more than $2 trillion annually. The partnership will embed RLUSD into Notabene’s enterprise payment flow, enhancing regulatory compliance (Travel Rule) and expanding the stablecoin’s reach in regulated on‑chain transactions. Despite the announcements, XRP’s price remained near $1.08‑$1.10, indicating limited immediate market reaction.
