Ripple launches XRPL AI Starter Kit for agentic payments on XRP Ledger
Ripple has released the XRPL AI Starter Kit, a developer toolkit that enables autonomous software agents to perform payments on the XRP Ledger. The kit supports the x402 payment protocol, allowing AI agents to check balances, create wallets, and execute transactions using XRP or Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD without human approval. Ripple highlights the ledger’s fast 3‑5 second confirmation times, low fees and built‑in features such as a DEX, margin‑trading and multi‑signature support, positioning it for high‑frequency machine‑to‑machine payments.
The initiative aims to foster a micro‑payment economy for AI services, linking the toolkit to AI models like Claude and Cursor via the XRPL Docs MCP Server. While the AI‑payment market is still early and currently focused on platforms such as Base and Solana, Ripple hopes the starter kit will attract developers and expand the use case of XRP beyond speculation.
