Ripple Secures Full MiCA CASP License in Luxembourg, Expanding Services Across Europe

Ripple announced that Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), has upgraded the company’s provisional authorization to a full Crypto‑Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence under the EU Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) framework. The licence, granted on 6 July 2026, follows a preliminary ‘green‑light’ issued in June.

The full CASP authorisation, together with Ripple’s existing European Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence, allows the firm to provide regulated crypto‑asset services – custody, transfer, exchange and payment – to banks, fintechs and corporate clients across all 30 countries of the European Economic Area via a single passported approval. Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s Managing Director for the UK and Europe, said the approval puts Ripple “fully compliant and ready to scale” in the post‑transitional MiCA era. Ripple now holds more than 75 regulatory licences worldwide, joining a small group of digital‑asset firms fully authorised under MiCA.

The announcement caused a modest ~1 % rise in XRP’s price but did not materially alter broader market dynamics. The licence positions Ripple to meet growing institutional demand for regulated digital‑asset infrastructure in Europe.
