Rira Miura and Ryuta Kihara launch “THE DESTINY” ice show in Tokyo
Olympic gold‑medal figure‑skating pair Rira Miura and Ryuta Kihara, known as “Rikuryu,” have opened their first self‑produced ice show “THE DESTINY.” The show premiered on January 31 at Tokyo’s Tatsumi Ice Arena and is scheduled to run through August 2.
The production is designed around pair and ice‑dance couples only, a rarity for ice shows, and uses a competition‑size rink identical to the one used in international events. In a studio interview on NTV’s ZIP! programme, the duo joked about the show’s development and highlighted details such as lighting adjustments and the decision to keep the rink size the same as in competition to convey the full power of couple skating.
