Risaralda announces local passport services and English scholarships

The Risaralda Governor's Office has launched several regional initiatives to facilitate administrative and educational access for residents.

In Apía, registration is now open for a decentralized passport processing day scheduled for Friday, October 30. Residents can schedule appointments at the Municipal Mayor's Office of Government, Health, and Education. This initiative aims to reduce the need for citizens to travel to the capital to process travel documents, following similar programs in seven other municipalities.

Additionally, a new scholarship program called ACCESS has been announced for youth in Santa Rosa de Cabal. In partnership with the Colombo Americano of Pereira and with support from the U.S. Embassy in Colombia, the program offers 20 full scholarships for students aged 16 to 18 to learn English. The scholarship covers training for the 2026-2028 period, with priority given to students already enrolled in the regional higher education program.
