Rishabh Pant becomes India’s leading WTC run-scorer

Rishabh Pant has become India’s leading run-scorer in the World Test Championship (WTC) following his performance in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. By scoring 66 runs in the second innings, Pant reached a total of 2,885 WTC runs, surpassing Shubman Gill, who sits second with 2,867 runs. Pant’s achievement places him ahead of other prominent Indian batters including Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Virat Kohli.

Following India’s 165-run victory in the match, Pant also used social media to express gratitude toward the ground staff at the Galle International Stadium. He specifically commended the groundsmen for their work managing persistent rain and wet outfield conditions that caused multiple interruptions during the five-day contest.
