Rishabh Pant sets records for most WTC runs and Test sixes for India

During the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant achieved two major milestones. He became the first Indian and the fourth player globally to hit 100 sixes in Test cricket, reaching the mark in just 51 matches and 4,918 balls, surpassing the speed of Adam Gilchrist.

Additionally, Pant became India's highest run-scorer in the history of the World Test Championship (WTC). With his performance in the second innings, he reached 2,885 runs, overtaking captain Shubman Gill (2,867 runs) and former captain Rohit Sharma (2,716 runs).

In the match itself, Pant's aggressive 66 runs off 69 balls helped India set a target of 372 runs for Sri Lanka. By the end of Day 4, India held a dominant position, leaving Sri Lanka at 84 for 4 and requiring 288 more runs to win.
