Rising COVID-19 cases reported in Bavaria
Data from the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) indicates a significant increase in COVID-19 infections. Between October 5 and October 11, 2026, 218 cases were reported in Bavaria, a more than threefold increase compared to 66 cases reported at the end of September.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has also noted a gradual increase in SARS-CoV-2 activity across Germany, suggesting the virus is becoming more active in various parts of the country. While officials note that this does not yet constitute a major wave of illness, the rising statistics serve as a signal of changing epidemiological conditions.
