The Bremen-based metalcore band Rising Insane is preparing for the release of their fifth album, titled ‘Deathrace’. In recent podcast appearances, vocalist Aaron and guitarist Sven discussed the creative shift behind the new project.
The band decided to scrap a significant amount of previous material that they felt was too similar to their previous work, ‘Wildfires’. This led to a more stripped-back musical direction, moving away from synthesizers and samples in favor of a focus on riffs and breakdowns. The album explores themes of human behavior, trauma, and the perceived self-destructive nature of society.
Recording and preparation for the album involved returning to their roots, including practicing in Schierbrok. The band also touched upon the challenges of balancing music with their regular jobs and the experience of touring with larger acts like Papa Roach.
