Rising summer camp costs in Slovakia as Czech day camps still have vacancies

A recent Ipsos survey for Home Credit finds that summer camp prices in Slovakia have risen sharply, with most families spending between 200 and 400 euros per child and 25 % saying they cannot afford a camp. Attendance varies regionally, with about 66 % of children in Bratislava expected to attend versus only 31 % in eastern Slovakia.

In the neighbouring Czech Republic, the Opava municipal leisure centre reports that day‑camp places remain available for the upcoming holidays. Weekly fees average around 3,000 Czech crowns, and the programme includes activities such as a mini‑zoo, technical workshops, and creative art camps, offering a lower‑cost alternative to overnight camps.
