Risk management and climate intelligence drive business strategy in Brazil
Major companies in Brazil are focusing on advanced risk management strategies to combat increasing environmental and economic volatility. At the Expointer event in Rio Grande do Sul, BB Seguros highlighted the use of climate intelligence and data modeling to help rural producers mitigate risks from extreme weather events like El Niño and La Niña. The company is utilizing meteorological information and geographic data to offer more regionalized insurance solutions for agricultural production and assets.
In a separate leadership forum in São Paulo, Aon discussed how businesses can transform potential risks into actionable decision-making data. According to Aon’s Global Risk Management Survey, business interruption is the primary risk for Brazilian companies, followed by commodity prices, material shortages, cyberattacks, and regulatory changes. The report noted that over two-thirds of Brazilian companies experienced financial losses due to currency fluctuations in the previous 12 months.
