RISO launches ComColor GN Series inkjet printers

RISO Kagaku Corporation has announced the launch of the ComColor GN Series, a new line of ultra-high-speed full-color inkjet printers designed for transactional documents, manuals, and mailings. The flagship model, the ComColor GN9830, achieves a single-sided printing speed of 180 ppm.

The series utilizes proprietary heat-free oil-based pigment ink technology. Unlike laser printers that use high heat and pressure, this process prevents paper curling and maintains flatness, which facilitates seamless double-sided printing and automated post-processing tasks such as stapling and booklet binding.

In terms of sustainability, the heat-free process reduces weekly energy consumption. The hardware also incorporates 15% recycled plastic resin, tripling the amount used in previous models to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions. Users can monitor estimated CO2 reduction directly via the printer’s color touchscreen.
