Risto Đogo, a prominent and controversial journalist known for his role in wartime propaganda during the Bosnian War, has been the subject of retrospective scrutiny regarding his career and mysterious death.

Đogo was a key figure in the establishment of the media system in Republika Srpska, helping found the Srna news agency and the Serbian Radio-Television (SRT), including Kanal S. His news broadcasts from Pale were noted for using satire, dark humor, and provocative language to justify military actions, such as the shelling of Sarajevo.

His death in September 1994 remains a subject of debate. While official reports stated he died in an accident after falling from a terrace at the Hotel Vidikovac into the Drina River near Zvornik, various allegations suggest he may have been murdered. Some media reports, including coverage by The New York Times, have previously questioned the official version, suggesting he was killed and thrown into the river.
