Rita Antonopoulou performs works of Theodorakis and Mikroutsikos

Singer Rita Antonopoulou performed a musical tribute to composers Miki Theodorakis and Thanos Mikroutsikos as part of the 55th Olympus Festival. The event took place within the historic 11th-century Byzantine church of Panagia in Kontariotissa.

Accompanied by pianist Neoklis Neofytidis, Antonopoulou performed works that have shaped modern Greek music. The performance highlighted the connection between poetry and song, featuring the compositions of Theodorakis, known for bridging folk and art music, and Mikroutsikos, noted for his social commentary and unique musical style.

For Antonopoulou, the performance served as a personal journey, reflecting her previous collaborations with Mikroutsikos and her ongoing work with the Miki Theodorakis Orchestra.
